Jason de Graaf – Acrylic artist extraordinaire.

It took me a while to assimilate Canadian artist de Graaf’s paintings because they are so photographic in their communicative appeal. M.C Escher tributes are certainly visible, and I guess its de Graaf’s way of thanking the Maestro for lessons in optics, reflective surfaces and geometric precision. What you see and what you are about to see, believe it or not, is acrylic on canvas.

I had to look at these over and over again to make sure they are not camera shot, I am still not sure. *rubs eyes*

I am not sure I enjoy painting which tries so hard to mimic photography, whats the point? Not taking anything away from his talent.

This is truly an extraordinary talent. No amount hand holdlng and training can produce this. One has to have it within.

I am an Escher fan, and I loved Jason’s Escher ‘tribute’.
