Kim Ki-Duk: Bin-jip (2004)

Kim Ki-Duk‘s “Bin-Jip” (‘Empty House’ also titled ‘3 Iron’) is a quaint cinematic experience, a love story of sorts hovering between spirit-reality-fantasy. Nothing is articulated entirely, nor is there a need for it. Relationships are discovered in profound silence. Watch.

I liked this movie, i like the idea of breaking into peoples houses when no one is in. I will probably not wash their drity linen :D

I did not quite understand it all, especially the end bits, but I really liked it! Its a ‘simple story’ beautifully shot.

So, when neighbours are away for the weekend, I take a lockpick kit, get in and I get the house to myself, what should I do then…. fall in love. Great movie. :)

The abusive hubby is kind of stereotypical I would say. Not the best of actor playing hubby as well.

I caught this movie 2 years ago in a festival. Of late, I have been having a recurring dream where I am walking into a large house (the house feels familiar). The house is totally empty of other people; however there are a few items of furniture here and there in the house. BUT, someone HAD been there.
