The Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) Fiosraigh Dean of Graduate Research School Award recognizes the outstanding achievement by individual students and is open to talented students who wish to pursue a PhD on a full time basis. Applications are invited from students of any higher education institution, in Ireland or internationally.

The Irish word ‘Fiosraigh’, which means to explore or inquire, underlines the purpose of this scholarship programme which is to promote the exploration and application of knowledge.

PhD Scholarships in Transcultural Studies, Heidelberg University, Germany 2015

The Graduate Programme for Transcultural Studies (GPTS) of the Cluster of Excellence “Asia and Europe in a Global Context” at the Heidelberg University, Germany, is offering up to four doctoral scholarships, starting in October 2015. Applicants must hold an M.A. or equivalent in a discipline of the humanities or social sciences with an above-average grade and must propose a research project with a strong affiliation to the research framework of the Cluster.

Trudeau Foundation Doctoral Scholarships, Canada. 2013-2014

 

 

Social Sciences and Humanities. Open to international and Canadian applicants. Up to 15 Trudeau Scholarships are awarded each year to support doctoral candidates pursuing research of compelling present-day concern, pertinent to one or more of the four themes of the Trudeau Foundation:

(1) human rights and dignity; (2) responsible citizenship; (3) Canada in the world; and (4) people and their natural environment.

Trudeau Scholars are highly gifted individuals who are actively engaged in their fields and expected to become leading national and international figures. Far beyond being simply financial assistance, the Trudeau Foundation Doctoral Scholarship offers award winners the opportunity to interact with an exciting community of leaders and committed individuals in every field of the social sciences and humanities.

Value and Duration of Scholarship
1. $40,000 tenable for Three Years
2. An annual allowance of $20,000 available to support research related travel expenses and to cover networking expenses associated with the Foundation’s Public Interaction program.

University of Padua, Italy. International PhD Fellowships 2012-2013.

Università degli Studi di Padova (University of Padua), one of the oldest universities in the world (estd. 1222), is offering PhD fellowships across its various schools for the academic year 2012-2013. Of particular interest is the School of Social Sciences: Interactions, Communication, Cultural Constructions.

15 research fellowships for foreign students to attend Doctoral Schools/International Courses. The duration of the doctoral courses is three years, starting on 1st January 2013 and ending on 31st December 2015.
