Every discourse, even a poetic or oracular sentence, carries with it a system of rules for producing analogous things and thus an outline of methodology.

“difference” is all there is.
profound and difficult mind, i am trying to figure out derrida’s writing still.
Gadamer is into dialogue while Derrida is into deconstruction. In understanding, Gadamer suggests that the mind has to be open to the views of another “fusion of horizon”, we keep our pre-conceptions but remaining open and receptive to the meaning perceived and given. While Derrida, says that to understand a particular symbol, the mind has to diffuse all preconceived notions about the symbol. ..is it possible to merge the two? Just thinking out aloud.
I never understood poststructuralism. Did the thinkers have anything meaningful to say?
Was Derrida an atheist? Can anyone tell me some basic things about his ideas?
what does deconstuction have to do with God, or religion?
Was looking for this Derrida docu, thanks.
I’ve been studying Derrida. What is true is that, as a French, the reading of his dierent boks is deeper, because his philosophical langage is not translated. What I’m interested in, is the opinion on non-French people about his thought. (Be sure that I’ve been reading and reading again some diferent kinds of analysis about him).
Merci.
Is there any online resource/s that explains Derrida in a manner that’s for absolute beginners?
In my notes, I have “Truth is change — Truth is difference” after his name and now I have no idea what that means! Silly me. Can anyone throw some light on ‘change’ and ‘difference’?
How many languages does Derrida know? someone told me he was 7 lingual, any pointers?
It is interesting to know that Derrida does not have any intellectual lineage – he is the first in the family. Gives hope for some of us :)
Is there a Derrida for Dummies?lol
I want to know the exact address of the Derrida house? Is it accessible to public, is there some kind of library/museum?
Is there one book that would give me an overview of his philosophy and a basic feel for his style?
‘Of Grammatology’ is a good place to start? I was interested in Writing and Difference, but it’s quite expensive in the store.
I have to do a report on Deconstruction, due date is pretty far but I just really want to get the low-down on his theory before I get started. Thanks in advance people.
Derrida is difficult to comprehend, most late philosophers are I think .. any comparisons with Cixous and Zizek?
He is difficult to read as are most late philosophers…have to keep trying.
